Reported By 11 Apr 2020
n December, dancer and actress Uthara Unni met businessman Nithesh S Nair, a native of Kozhikode who had settled in Mangalore. They had a stunning engagement a month back, and were all set to get married in April. Yet, with their dream wedding the lockout was playing spoilsport.
Uthara says, "We had initially planned to have a simple thaalikettu ceremony in April, but with temples also closing and the situation getting worse around the world, we decided to push the wedding to a later date. I guess it might take another two months to get things back to normal so the wedding could happen after August, in Chingam's month.
And how did she come up against her fiancé? "Through a marriage platform, it's a perfectly arranged union," says Uthara, who confesses that she originally thought something was changing too fast with her wedding. "However, I have remembered that I was excited to get married when the lockout happened. I think we're using lockdown time to better understand each other and bond, "says the actress in Edavapathy. The dancer sits at home and finds time to stay creative and choreographing new routines. "When we're busy playing and traveling, we don't have time to do it, so now's the perfect time to do it," says Uthara, who after wedding will settle in Bengaluru. Is she going to miss being at Kerala? "Well, I'm going to keep coming to Kerala for my classes and performances for sure, at least twice a month, so I think I'm good," she signs off.
