Actress Nikhila Vimal helped out at the panchayat office of the Covid-19 call center in Kannur district, which oversees the supply of necessities. She conducts public calls and draws up lists of important products and medications that they seek during the lockout. "I volunteered to support the project as the assistance center encouraged the participation of recognizable faces in helping the city. The motto of the campaign is to make people sit home, without even going out to buy important things as our volunteers bring them to their doorstep, "the actress says, adding that she is referring to the callers without disclosing her name.

Nikhila travels 20 km from her Thaliparamba home to hit the aid center where she works between 10 am and 5 pm. "I don't do that every day and I value the laws that prohibit flying," she says.

As a message for the public, the actress says, “I know it’s hard for all of us to restrict ourselves and be inside our homes all the time. But we can also make it productive, by indulging in organic farming and practising growing microgreens. These will keep us occupied till the lockdown is lifted.

As a letter to the media, the actress says, "I know it's hard for us all to constrain ourselves all the time and be inside our houses. But by indulging in organic farming and practicing growing microgreens, we can make it successful too. It will keep us busy until we remove the lockout.
