Nivin Pauly’s Kollywood Debut Richie Released In Malayalam

After carving out a niche for himself in Mollywood, Niving Pauly made his debut in Kollywood with the film Richie. Apart from Nivin, the film also starred Shraddha Srinath, Natty and Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli. Gautham Ramachandran was at the helm of affairs for the project.
Since Nivin is a Malayalam actor, therefore his fans hoped that the movie will release in Malayalam also. However, Pauly has said that since Richie is his first straight Tamil movie, therefore it will not release in Malayalam. But, the flick released in Malayalam also.
The movie’s makers ensured that they have done proper dubbing in Malayalam and even got a censor certificate for the film. "We wanted to respect the director's vision and that's why the Malayalam version was held back initially. Since the release of the Malayalam version, we have been getting good reports and there were people who have watched Malayalam and Tamil,” said Vinod Shornur, the film’s co-producer.
