Innocent steps down as AMMA president, to be replaced by Idavela Babu

Veteran actor and MP Innocent has quit as the president of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA). He has said that he is quitting because he thinks there are more eligible people in the organization to head it.
He added that he will not be taking part in the upcoming election for the post.
Innocent was the president of AMMA for the past 17 years and his silence over the issue of the actress attack case had given ways to many controversies. He got elected to the post of president of AMMA for four successive times.
Now the biggest challenge in front of the office bearers of AMMA is to find a replacement for the veteran actor. It was Idavela Babu who used to take care of things in AMMA in Innocent’s absence. It is speculated that Idavela Babu would be made the new president because of his experience.
