Shruthy menon to play a slum dweller in her next lead

Shruthy Menon rose to fame after her stellar performance in Shanavas Bavakutty directed Kismath in 2016. Now, she is set to be the lead in the children's movie titled as Chippy. Directed by Pradeep Chokli, Shruthy plays the role of a slum dweller who sells banana chips for a living. The actress said that her character is a very strong, bold and aggressive person. But she is also very caring and soft-hearted and these characteristics get revealed once she comes in contact with a group of four upper primary school students, who are set out to take a short film.
Salim Kumar, Manikandan, Joy Mathew and Surabhi play prominent roles in the film. Chippy, which was mostly shot in Thalassery is expected to release on May 2.
