Actor-screenwriter-director Shankar Ramakrishnan has been away from the limelight for quite some time now. He was last seen in the movie White, which released in 2016. The film which marked the debut of Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi in Mollywood was a dud at the box office.
And now we have heard that Shankar, who made his directorial debut in 2009 with Kerala Cafe, is back to the silver screen. Kerala Cafe was a Malayalam anthology film which had 10 stories with 10 different directors directing it. Shankar directed the segment Island Express for the anthology.
He has been roped in by August Cinema to direct their forthcoming film titled Pathinettam Padi. This will be the first time that Shankar would be directing a full-fledged film. The makers are currently looking for actors for the film. Rumours are doing rounds that the flick will feature a bevy of newcomers. Apart from directing, Ramakrishnan will also write the story and script for the movie.
