Reported By 15 Nov 2017
Removing director Sanal Kumar Sasidharan’s ‘S Durga’ from the list of films for Goa had irked him. He is getting ready to move court against Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in this regard.
The ministry also had intervened to remove Maratti director Ravi Jadav’s ‘Nude’ from Indian Panorama section. Jury head Sujoy Ghosh had already resigned from the jury board in protest against the withdrawal of the films.
“S. Durga is a film that had won recognition in many international festivals. The first title of the film was Sexy Durga, which had drawn flak from several quarters.
Nude is the film that tells the story of a nude model in one art school. This was the inaugural film in the Indian panorama.
Ravi Jadav had earlier said that the ministry should at least be ready to state the reason for withdrawing his film. He also wrote a letter to the ministry, citing this.
