Mollywood star Sasi Kalinga dies at 59

In the wee hours of Tuesday, Mollywood actor Sasi Kalinga passes away at 59 Mollywood actor and theater artist Sasi Kalinga breathed his last in Kozhikode. He's 59. The actor was receiving treatment for a liver-related disease according to reports.
His role in the Mammootty-starrer 'Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha' shot to fame the actor who joined showbiz in 2009. His cop persona fascinated film lovers and the unusual facial expressions of the actor allowed him to draw a great deal of attention.
Movies such as 'Pranchiyettan and the Priest,' 'Adaminte Makan Abu' and 'Amen' gained him tremendous fame. His character Chachappan was much appreciated in 'Amen' as the film begins with Chachappan's entrance. Often adding to his success was his character in 'Amar Akbar Anthony' The star, known mainly for his comic characters, has won acclaim for many supporting roles, including one in 'Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha.' Sasi Kalinga's reel life was very eventful, with a career lasting just a decade.His stage name is Sasi Kalinga. His formal name is Chandrakumar V. Since joining the films Sasi was a theater actor and is survived by his wife Prabhavati.
Also grieving the death of the talented actor was filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery, who directed the actor for 'Amen,' and other M-Town actors including Manju Warrier, Chemban Vinod Jose, Dileep, Anusree, Unni Mukundan, Durga Krishna, Anu Sithara, Aju Varghese, Manoj K Jayan, Asif Ali, Joju George amongst others.
