Director Hariharan wins the prestigious J C Daniel award

Veteran director Hariharan has been chosen as the winner of the J C Daniel Award for his contribution to Malayalam cinema, for the year 2019. The award, announced by the Kerala State, carries an amount of Rs. 5 lakhs, a plaque, and a citation.
Hariharan is one of the finest filmmakers in Malayalam cinema, who has directed over 50 movies. His first movie as an independent director was Ladies Hostel in 1973. He is the director of such well appreciated movies like Panchagni, Nakhakshthangal, Amrutham Gamaya, Aranyakam, Oru Vadakkan Veeragadha, Sargam, Parinayam and Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja.
