Chinese production firm buys "Drishyam" script rights

A Chinese production company has acquired the screenplay rights of director Jeethu Joseph's blockbuster film "Drishyam." Jeethu Joseph, who also wrote the script for the movie, announced this on his Facebook page on Tuesday.
According to him, this is the first time a Chinese production team bags the script rights of an Indian regional language film. Mohanlal starrer "Drishyam" made waves in the industry as the film was remade into other regional languages.
Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas, South Indian actress Meena essayed the female lead in this family thriller.
