CBI 5 will be Mammootty’s first film after lockdown: SN Swamy
Reported By 30 Jun 2020
Mammootty was set to begin the shoot of the much-awaited sequel of Big B, Bilal, when the lockdown was announced in March. Now, it seems that megastar has apparently picked another CBI Sethurama Iyer over Bilal to kick-start his acting venture after the Covid-19 restrictions are eased. SN Swamy, scriptwriter of the upcoming K Madhu directorial that is tentatively titled CBI 5, says, “We were supposed to begin shooting on June 1 but that’s when the Covid-19 cases peaked. Mammootty has told us that this would be his next project as soon as the restrictions are lifted.
The government-enforced restrictions on film shooting are the main concern for the makers right now. “Shooting with just 50 people is not possible for a movie like ours that needs at least 200 personnel on the set. Also, 90% of our movie has to be shot outdoors. So, we are waiting on the government to ease these two restrictions to begin. As soon as that’s done, we can kick-start the film within a month,” says Swamy. The iconic CBI tune might also get a twist, courtesy a new composer for the film, which is the fifth in the Sethurama Iyer franchise.
“Shyamji, who had scored the music for the previous films, is not a position to compose for this film. So, we are planning to rope in Jakes Bejoy,” says the scriptwriter. On the cast, he says, “Mukesh and Saikumar will be returning and there will be other actors too but we can confirm their dates only after we finalise when we can begin shooting.”
