Asif Ali's next BTech inspired by real-life incidents
Reported By 12 Oct 2017
Asif Ali's next BTech will be a humorous take on life in an engineering college. Director of the movie Mridul Nair says his debut venture will invoke nostalgia in anybody who has been to an engineering college. "BTech revolves around life in an engineering college outside Kerala. We will start the shoot next month in Bangalore. While most movies depict Bangalore's upper-middle-class life, we will be showing another reality," says Mridul. According to him, the thread has stayed with him for the past eight years. "It is inspired by several real-life incidents," he adds.
But, the director is tight-lipped about the character Asif will play in the movie. "It is a suspense. Many want to know whether Asif is playing a student. But, we have to wait longer to know more about his character," says the director. He adds that the story, however, is set in 2017. The movie will have two female leads. "We are in talks with actresses and we hope to confirm the names once we sign the contract," says Mridul who has been in the industry as an actor and assistant director for the last nine years. BTech will be a technically brilliant film. "The script of the movie is such that it demands technical excellence. We hope to rope in the best brains in the industry," says Mridul. Asif Ali is currently shooting for Mandaram wherein he plays five different avatars. He is expected to join the sets of BTech once that work is wrapped up. The film will be produced by Maqtro Pictures after Sunday Holiday, that also had Asif Ali in the lead.
