Amala’s reaction to the Kayamkulam Kochunni cast change

Recently, there were reports suggesting that Priya Anand of Ezra fame will be replacing Amala Paul in the Malayalam movie Kayamkulam Kochunni. Now Amala herself has clarified the real reason behind the cast change through her official Twitter handle. Her post reads, “FYI i wasn't replaced, i opted out because of date issues, i am not joblessely cooking up stuff”. Sensational actor Nivin Pauly plays the titular role in the movie, which scripted by writer duo Bobby- Sanjay and directed by Rosshan Andrrews. Kayamkulam Kochunni, which tells the story of Kochunni, an infamous highwayman, also features Sunny Wayne, Babu Antony, Manikandan Achari and Kannada actress Priyanka Thimmesh in pivotal roles. Interestingly, Nivin had undergone training in Kalaripayattu to play the character effectively. The movie is funded by Gokulam Gopalan under the banner of Sri Gokulam Movies. The shooting of the movie is currently progressing in Mangalore. The next schedule of the movie will be shot at various locations in Sri Lanka.
