Aami; Neelanjana to Play the Teenage Madhavikutty
Reported By 31 May 2017
Plus two student Malavika aka Neelanjana will play the teenage of Kamala Surayya in the bio-picture titled ‘Aami’. The movie is directed by director Kamal. While talking to a media group, she said that she was so excited to debut her acting career in this role. Manju Warrier plays the lead role.
Interestingly Neelanjana too hails from Kannur Chinmaya Vidyalaya, the same school where Manju Warrier completed her primary studies. She is doing her Plus two. She got selected by director Kamal after she enacted some scenes of ‘Aami.’
I just sent my photo when saw the casting call of Launch World Advertising Company. Seeing my photo, director Kamal demanded more photos. Later when met him, he asked me to enact some scenes. Once I got the selection, I started reading a lot of books by her and about her; the debut actress said in an interview revealing her way to ‘Aami.’
Neelanjana hails from Kannur and now stays in Koothuparamba. She was brought up in Qatar. Last year, her family returned to Kerala. She also practices Bharatanatyam classical dance and has won prizes for Poem Recitation. She feels sad only on one thing that there are no combination scenes with Manju Warrier as both of them enact the same character of two different ages in ‘Aami.
