Megastar Mammootty's The Great Father has opened in Kerala box office with a huge reception from the audience. The movie has created many records well before its release. It has released 202 centers across Kerala on March 30th 2017. As per the initial reports the movie has recieved very good collection from Kochi Multiplexes and became the highest grosser for Mammootty at Kochi.
As per the Prithviraj's official facebook page the first day collection is 4.31 Crores, which makes the movie the all time first day grosser in Kerala box offfice. As per our trusted source the movie has collected over ₹ 3.57 Crores with a share of ₹ 2.86 Crores from the kerala box office
The was previously held by superstar Rajinikanth’s Kabali, which had raked in Rs 4.20 crores on the opening day. Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan which grossed Rs 4.05 crores from the opening day was the highest first day grosser in Malayalam cinema.
The movie, written and directed by debutant Haneef Adeni, features Mammootty in the role of David Ninan. Actress Sneha is playing his wife, Michelle David in the movie. Arya has played a pivotal character as Andrews Eapen, a police officer. Mia George, Baby Anikha, Malavika Mohanan and IM Vijayan are also part of the cast.
