Shahid Kapoor To Team Up With Imtiaz Ali After A Decade For A Rom-Com

Shahid Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali worked together 10 years back in Jab We Met, which starred Kareena Kapoor as the female lead. Though Shahid and Kareena were no longer together, however, their chemistry in the film was loved so much by audience that the movie went on to become a blockbuster. After the film’s release, none of the three was seen with each other in any film.
But now it has come to light that Shahid is all set to collaborate with Imtiaz once again. The movie is said to be a love story and will go on floors next year. "The film kicks off in Mumbai in April and will be followed by an extensive shoot, both in India and abroad. At the moment, Imtiaz is still looking for a leading lady to be cast opposite Shahid for this rom-com,” revealed a source to a leading tabloid.
According to reports, Shahid said through his character of Aditya Kashyap did not get the needed recognition when Jab We Met released, however, he had firm belief that after 10 years people would resonate with him. He also said that he is grateful to Imtiaz for giving him an opportunity to play a silent, complex and layered character. He praised Ali calling him a brilliant filmmaker. On the work front, Shahid is gearing up for the release of Padmavati also starring Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh.
