Dangal opens in Pakistan as play

Aamir khan’s Dangal which released during Christmas last year didn’t find a release in Pakistan due to the on-going unrest between the two countries. Despite the imposed ban on Bollywood films, the wrestling biopic drama has managed to find its way in the form of a stage play by a Lahore-based theater group. According to a daily, the theater group has recreated the film as a stage play which has found favour among the local audiences.
pakistani stage actor Naseem Vicky plays Aamir’s Mahavir Singh Phogat in this onstage rendition of the film. Interestingly this isn’t the first time a Hindi film has been staged in Pakistan. In the past, there have also been plays that were based on previously released films like PK, Devdas and Tere Naam.
