Alia Bhatt & Ranveer Singh to pair up for Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy

Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt will pair up together in Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy. In the film, Ranveer Singh will play the character of a guy who is born and brought up in a Mumbai slum and aspires to be a rapper. The film is to be produced by Zoya's own, and brother Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani's, production houses.
The film will address various social issues like Dalit oppression, street life and inequality. The film is directed by Zoya Akhtar. The film is set to follow the lives of Bombay street rappers, inspired by two of India's most famous stars, Naezy and Divine. After the news of the film broke, Ranveer put up a video on Instagram, talking about how excited he was to be working with Alia. In the video, he uses a filter with the face of an old uncle, and even dons a corresponding voice, talking about how Alia is one of his favourite actors from the "younger lot", and how he is looking "faarward" to work with her.
Shockingly, this is the second time that Ranveer and Zoya coming together, after Dil Dhadakne Do. Obviously, expectations are high from Gully Boy. The film will roll next year but the excitement has already begun.However, no official word has been made by the filmmaker or the actors as yet.
