Chiranjeevi is certainly on a song. The Megastar of Telugu cinema, who is currently busy shooting for the last leg of Acharya, also has a film with Mohan Raja, KS Ravindra (Bobby) and Meher Ramesh in the pipeline. While KS Ravindra's film has been titled Veerayya, we hear, Jayam Raja's film, a remake of Malayalam action thriller Lucifer, has got an interesting title.

Sources say Chiranjeevi has zeroed in on Raraju as the title of the Telugu remake which is expected to go on floors in April soon after Ugadi. Incidentally, Chiranjeevi seems to have borrowed the title from yesteryear films of Krishnam Raju and Gopichand.

Raraju showcases Chiranjeevi as a middle-aged politician, who sets out to avenge the death of his godfather and a political bigwig. Produced by NVR Films in association with Konidela Productions and Megaa Super Good Films, the film has music by SS Thaman.

Grapevine is that the makers have approached Nayanthara to essay the role of Chiranjeevi's sister in the film. However, the actress is rumoured to have rejected the offer owing to the delay in the production and Trisha is now the frontrunner to reprise this character originally portrayed by Manju Warrier in the Mohanlal-starrer.

The film also has Satyadev Kancharana stepping into the shoes of Tovino Thomas and he will be seen as Chiranjeevi's younger brother. Raraju will hit the screens in the first half of 2022.
