Rajini asked Aamir Khan to do 2.0

Call it a surprise. When Shankar mooted the idea to do a sequel for Endhiran (2.0), Rajinikanth had initially requested Aamir Khan to play the lead citing his health as reason.Speaking to a television channel, Aamir Khan revealed that Rajini felt that he wouldn’t be able to pull of the role due to his health condition and asked director Shankar to narrate the script to me. I’m a big fan of Rajini sir and Shankar was the best.However, I insisted that I can’t pull off a Rajini magic and insisted that he should do it, he said.The movie is now complete starring Rajinikanth and plans are on for release in January. Produced by Lyca, it also stars Akahay Kumar and Amy Jackson. Music is by A R Rahman.
