Reported By 21 Oct 2017
AR Rahman is indeed one of the best music composers that Indian cinema has been bestowed with. A recipient of Academy Awards, BAFTA Awards, National Awards, Grammy Awards, Golden Globe and others, he has added one more award to his list. Rahman recently received the reputed ‘The Public Choice Award’ for his Indo-British historical film Viceroy’s House at the World Soundtrack Awards event.
He was selected by people from over 100 countries voting in his favour. He is currently preparing up for his upcoming movie ‘99 Songs’ which he has written and produced it under his banner YM Movies along with Ideal Entertainment. Though the movie was announced long time back, however it is still in the production stage.
When asked from Rahman about the reason for the delay, he said, “Many of you are keen to know about 99 Songs and how the film is progressing. For the past couple of years, we have taken the time necessary to hold around 1,000 auditions so that we could find the right boy and girl. I think we have found those special people who have brought freshness and talent to the screen. The main actors have been trained for over a year at the KM Music Conservatory where they’ve learned to play the musical instruments needed for their roles. They have also attended exclusive acting workshops in Hollywood.”
He added, “This year we started filming in India and have just finished a long shooting schedule in Ukraine. We are almost there.” The album will have 10-12 tracks. The audio of the flick will be launched in a couple of months.
