S. S. Rajamouli is an Indian film director and screenwriter, known for his works primarily in Telugu cinema. Although working in the mainstream medium, his films are noted for their technical finesse, and craft. He is known for directing fantasy works such as Magadheera , Eega and Baahubali: The Beginning which became the highest grossing Indian film within India, the 2nd highest grossing Indian film globally, the first South Indian film to gross over ?650 crore worldwide, the first non-Hindi film to gross over ?100 crore in the dubbed Hindi version, and the highest grossing Telugu film of all time The film has received the National Film Award for Best Feature Film, and got nominated for Saturn Award for Best Fantasy Film by the American Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films.
