Zinda (translation: Alive) is a 2006 Bollywood mystery-thriller film, starring Sanjay Dutt, John Abraham, and Lara Dutta. The film was directed by Sanjay Gupta and written by Gupta and Suresh Nair. Vishal-Shekhar composed the film's thematic music, with background music composed by Sanjoy Chowdhury. It was released in India on 12 January 2006. Zinda has been identified as an unauthorised remake of the South Korean film Oldboy. Show East, the producers of Oldboy, who had already sold the remake rights to DreamWorks in 2004, initially expressed legal concerns but no legal action was taken as the studio had shut down.
