Thoppil Joppan is a 2016 Indian Malayalam-language comedy film directed by Johny Antony, starring Mammootty in the titular role as a Kabaddi player.Joppan turns to alcohol when he is distraught after his break up. He tries to move on, but his love story always ends in heartbreak.The filming began in Ernakulam in April 2016.[citation needed] Initially Vedhika and Deepti Sati were each considered for the second lead role but were replaced by Mamta Mohandas. Mamta will be paired opposite director-turned-actor Jude Anthany Joseph.
