| Ravana Desam, or Ravan Desam, is a Tamil film written and directed by Ajay Nuthakki. The film is based on the refugees missing during the 2009 Sri Lankan Civil War. The film begins in Sri Lanka during the civil war between the Sri Lanka Army and the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, who are fighting for a separate nation for Tamils. The movie tells the story of refugees who went missing while trying to escape the fighting by crossing the border with illegal boats to Tamil Nadu in India. The film is based on true incidents that happened during the voyage. he cast and crew for the production were on the sea filming for almost 120 days, with many of the actors getting sea sickness. |
