Melnaattu Marumagal is a 1975 Tamil language film starring Sivakumar, Laurance Pourtale, Kamal Haasan and Jayasudha in the lead roles. Sivakumar's wife was French actress Laurance Pourtale. Kamal Haasan plays the role of younger brother of Sivakumar. Jayasudha was Kamal Haasan's pair. Vani Ganapathy, a danseuse appeared only for a dance sequence alongside Kamal Haasan whom she later married in 1978. The film was remade in Telugu as America Ammay
