Malootty is a 1992 malayalam dramatic film by Bharathan, starring jayaram, Urvasi and Shamili (younger sister of Shalini). It is a Malayalam adaptation of the English movie Everybody's Baby: The rescue of Jessica McClure, which is based on the true story of the rescue of an 18-month-old girl from a water well. Malootty is set in the 1980s when a girl is trapped in a hole; she survives after many hours. The title drawings were done by Bharathan's son. Shamili won the Kerala state Film award for best child artist.
