It is directed by David Dhawan.This movie is inspired by the Hollywood film Liar Liar, starring Jim Carrey.The movie shares certain elements with Liar Liar, such as Govinda being a compulsive liar like Carrey's character and his son wishing that his dad would stop lying.The movie is also inspired by superhit marathi movie Dhangad Dhinga starring Mahesh Kothare and Laxmikant Berde. Some plot is inspired from Rakesh Roshan's Kaamchor.
