Baba Kalyani is a 2006 Indian Malayalam action film directed by Shaji Kailas, starring Mohanlal in the title role, and also featuring Biju Menon, Saikumar, Indrajith Sukumaran, Mamta Mohandas, and Jagathy Sreekumar. Shaji Kailas was supposed to direct another film with Mohanlal in the lead role. But due to certain reasons, the film did not start production and he asked S. N. Swami to do a script on urgent basis. The only song was written by Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma and was composed by Alex Paul. The film was released in 61 screens in 48 stations in Kerala. It took a good opening, which grossed ₹1.08 crore in 3 days at the box office, with a distributors share of ₹54 lakh. Sify placed Baba Kalyani in fifth place in its "Top 5 Films of 2006" in Malayalam, in terms of the box office earnings.
