Shafi is an Indian film director best known for his comedy Malayalam films. He has also directed a Tamil film. The director Rafi of the Rafi Mecartin duo is his elder brother. Shafi started his film career in the mid-1990s by being assistant director to Rajasenan and the Rafi Mecartin duo. Shafi made his directorial debut with One Man Show (2001). His popular films include Kalyanaraman (2002), Pulival Kalyanam (2003), Thommanum Makkalum (2005), Mayavi (2007), Chocolate (2007), Marykkundoru Kunjaadu (2010), Makeup Man (2011), and Two Countries (2015). He has a 100% percent success ratio with actor Dileep with 3 big blockbusters.
