A. K. Ravindran, is a filmmaker in Malayalam cinema and a former Indian Army Major. Also known as Major Ravi.Ravi was born to Sri. Perumbara Kuttisankaran Nair and Smt. A. T. Satyabhama in Pattambi, Palakkad district on 13 June 1958. He joined the army as a cadet after his schooling and later pursued his studies within the army and graduated from the Army College to become a major in the year 1985. He was head of the commando team of the mission code named Operation One Eyed Jack to capture suspects of the Rajiv Gandhi murder case.
